OUTFITS

Kaye
(Dress: Dar-Ti. Shoes: Jessica Simpson. Rings: Noir Jewelry, Ebay, gifted, Fashionology. Bracelets: Oroton. Bag: vintage DIY studded)

Mahaila
(Skirt: One of my many circle skirts (I told you I was obsessed, quick, simple and effective to whip up), shoes: I found them when I was sifting through my abandoned clothes in Aus. Plastic shoes + heat = some funny noises... beware of the plastics, Earrings: some of my button inventions)

Kaye: For mahaila's last Saturday night in Perth, I wanted to take her and michael to the new small bars in the city. First stop was Helvetica Bar, which is a place I really love. We found a nice little nook in the  front of the bar and were quite happy to stay there all night. Kind of wish we had now, considering how shit the second bar was! We went to Wolf Lane and it was weird. Heaps of dudes, bartenders with no clue and a weirdly dull atmosphere that felt like I was in a music-less, empty nightclub... don't know how they managed that. I was shocked when mahaila ran up to me after her bathroom visit to tell me that a girl had tried to attack her with a soap dispenser..... Anyway, the whole experience was really awkward, hence the second last photo............. that's michael and I expressing our awkwardness.

Mahaila: Helvetica was a nice little place and the staff were extra nice (which is always a major plus). Michael enjoyed talking about how the place did not utilise the Helvetica font theme... though as seen on the wine glasses, perhaps the little Swiss crosses were enough. And YES I was bloody scared when I walked out of the toilet cubicle in Wolf Lane only to have a soap dispenser shoved in my face with an angry looking girl ready to push the pumping mechanism. All I could get out was 'Are you right there?'. Not quite a fight or flight response. Perhaps I would not be so good in a confusing emergency. So thumbs up to friendly Helvetica and thumbs down to confusing, awkward Wolf Lane.
