Today's creative Friday features the interesting and unique Zeppelin jewellery. Elodie is the creator and designer behind the Zeppelin label and we were lucky enough to visit her in her lovely home. There is something really intriguing and eye catching about her creations which lured me in. Perhaps it's the materials that she uses (I love her use of fishing tackle!) or the overall feel of the pieces. What ever it is, the Zeppelin jewellery is definitely worth checking out:)!

Where are you from?
I was born and raised in the South East of France (Drôme) and in 2001 I moved to Lille to study textile design.

What is your art/craft and where can we find it?
I create playful, youthful and whimsical jewellery from found
objects (flea markets, do-it-yourself and fishing departments...).
I select my materials for their individual beauty and mix them to create something special and add unique character.
Currently, 2 shops sell my pieces, Wood Wood in Berlin and Boutique Mai in Luzern. And soon in Boutique Slow in Brest (France). Concerning the web, I've got an online shop (zeppelin.bigcartel.com) and the e-concept store Minimall has got some pieces.

Also people who makes handmade items are totally free, they can express their own creativity with no limits which gives once again to items a special and unique character. In general, my inspiration comes from the materials themselves I find. They lead me.
Through the jewellery I change their primary use and give them a "second life" revealing a beauty that people often don't pay attention to.
Fishing gear has been a great inspiration for me since the beginning, there is an aesthetic around this hobby that I really like.
Travels are also really inspiring.
But actually I can be inspired by many different things, i just need to be "touched" by an object, his shape/form, his color, his material.
What motivates you to create?
I have always collected little things, trinkets and materials, hoping to one day be able to incorporate these things in my work, and finally it's done now through jewellery design. It's always really pleasant to get a beautiful piece after hours/days of elaboration but I also really enjoy the process part.
And finally, it's very satisfying to see that people appreciate your work.
What encouraging words/advice would you give to someone who is interested in sparking their creativity?
It's sometimes a bit hard to do the plunge, but then you'll be very proud of yourself.
